The poor are well known to be very loud individuals. While this is a stereotype, but it does have a basis in poverty. As a general rule poverty is a state where warmth and the extreme heat of unbridled passion tend to be the dominant factors in one’s life. For poor people, friendships and loves are deeper than in the other classes. Unfortunately, this isn’t always a good thing.
Often men are taught in poor society that they have to be either lovers or fighters. To be anything else is to be considered unusual and tends to result in a lot of abuse. This reinforces the stereotype and the tendencies of the society as a whole. With a group of men who can love or fight but never simply flow, passions run rampant when they mix with women. The main reason why there are so many single mothers in the ghetto is that the men and women either love or fight one another with everything they have.
As well, poor society is composed of associations due to either blood or personal friendship. Even business relationships among the poor tend to be based on friendship and entertainment instead of business sense or usefulness. While this is a fun way to live, it tends to wreak a lot of hardship on poor people, as they struggle to do what they believe is right despite all of the evidence that it just won’t work very well. This is just the way they live.
