Beautiful Links to American History

American history is like a beautiful quilted fabric, with many different views, styles and peoples all forming a single tapestry._ This variety and diversity is celebrated by people in many different ways. American Girl dolls are a beautiful and meaningful way that many people choose to honor America’s rich heritage and history.

The American Girl line includes a wide variety of dolls, each with a story of who they were and where and when they were “living.” To showcase the era, each doll comes with doll clothes that replicate its era.  The story behind each American Girl is different depending on its era and setting. Dolls such as Kaya, the Nez Perce Native American, and Felicity Merriman, the young Virginian girl, are both from the pre-Revolutionary War colonies. Other American Girls, such as Ivy Ling, the gymnast, and Julie Albright, the free-spirit Californian, are experiencing life in 1970′s San Francisco.

Each American Girl doll comes with a variety of accessories, furniture, books, clothes and shoes, but what many people like most about the American Girl dolls is the sense of the American Girls coming straight out of another time in the history of the United States of America. The American Girl dolls each have several books describing the hardships, adventures and shenanigans that the girls endured. These stories include wonderful details about the times in which the girls lived.

While each American Girl is representative of a different time, place and lifestyle, they all represent the entirety of the history and culture of the United States of America.
